Google Business Profile Optimization for Utah Businesses
When someone in Cache Valley searches for what you do, Google shows a map with three businesses on it before any website. Each of those three is a Google Business Profile, and the one you click is usually the one that looks real, current and trusted. If your profile is half filled out, last updated years ago, or missing photos of your work, the call goes to the business above you.
We set up, correct and run Google Business Profiles for local businesses from our office in Logan, Utah. KORB Digital is a studio that builds websites and runs search marketing in house. You deal with the people doing the work.
Stylized pins. Your listing's real Google map is embedded further down the page.
Who it is for
- A business with no profile, or a profile it never verified.
- An owner who set it up years ago and has not touched it since.
- A service-area business such as a tree service, handyman or mobile cleaner, where getting the address and service area right matters.
- A shop or studio that opened recently and has three reviews.
- A business that changed its name, phone number or services and has old details showing in Google.
- Anyone whose profile has been suspended or flagged and wants help working through the appeal. We cannot promise a reinstatement, and anyone who does is selling you something.
Google Business Profile in about a minute
What is included
Setup and verification
If the profile does not exist, we create it under your Google account and walk you through verification. If a duplicate or a stray listing exists, we sort out ownership and merge or remove it. We never create a second profile for the same business and we never use a fake address, PO box or virtual office. Google treats those as the classic reasons for suspension.
Categories
Your primary category is the strongest lever on the whole profile, and choosing it wrongly is one of the most damaging mistakes. We pick the most specific primary category that is true of your business, then add every honest secondary category. Because a category change can trigger re-verification, we make that change on its own, with a screenshot beforehand and your documents ready.
Services, with descriptions
Every service you sell gets listed, named the way customers search. "Deck repair and refinishing" tells a visitor more than "Repairs." Each gets a short description in plain words. Where a service has its own page on your site, the names match, so Google sees one consistent picture.
Business description
Google allows up to 750 characters, with no links or promotions. We write it in your own voice and keep your own first line when it is good. Practitioners rank the description low for map position, but AI answers read it. In a test we ran on a Logan landscaping client, Google AI Mode picked competitors whose profile had a full description over our client's one-liner. We rewrote it to name every service, in his words, and skipped long lists of towns, which Google treats as keyword stuffing.
Hours, contact details and attributes
Real, complete hours matter more than people expect, because being open at the time of the search is a known factor. We never list hours nobody answers. We also check that your phone number, hours and services match your website and your other listings, since Google builds the profile from all of them.
Real photos: two a week
Photos are where most profiles fall short. We add two real photos every week: your work, your crew, your vehicle, your shop, taken at your place of business. You send them from your phone or a shared folder, and we add them with the right caption, category and timing. Google bans stock images, and so do we. One practitioner case study credited 50 real photos and short work videos with taking a tire shop's average grid rank from above 20 to 6.6 in 90 days. That is one story, and your result will vary, but it fits what customers tell us: they call the business that looks like it is actually there.
Posts: two a week
We write two Google Business Profile posts a week from the photos and news you send us: a finished job, a seasonal reminder, an offer, a new service. Each has a button that goes to the right page or to a call. Let us be straight about what posts do. Independent tests have not found that posts raise map rankings, and Google names no posting frequency. We keep them going because a customer who opens your profile and sees something from this week trusts it more than one that stopped in 2022, and because it is part of what we promise. Posts also expire after six months unless they have a date range, so a steady stream beats one burst.
Reviews
Reviews are the biggest long-term lever on the profile. We set up a short text you can send the customer, with the direct review link, 20 to 60 minutes after the job. We write replies in your voice for your approval. We follow Google's policy: no incentives, no asking only the happy customers, no suggesting words, no review swaps. A burst of reviews in a few days can lead Google to remove them all and block new ones for weeks, so we aim for a steady flow, with at least one new review a month.
Your site shows your real map
A map on your website helps customers and ties your site to your listing. We add an embed of your actual Google profile map to your contact page and your service pages, taken from your real listing, never a generic city picture. For a service-area business, the map shows the region and does not point to a house.
Reporting
Each month you get a short report: calls, direction requests, website clicks and the searches that found you. Google's own dashboard undercounted calls by about a third in practitioner tests, so we also use call tracking where you want it. We keep a monthly export of your profile stats, because Google only keeps about six months.
How we work
We change one thing at a time, a week apart, after taking a screenshot. A manager who updated services, categories and posts in a single sitting got a profile suspended in one reported case, and stacked edits can look like a hijack. When you rename the business or change an address or phone number, we update your website and directories first and the profile last.
We use a Google account for the agency and take Manager access. You remain the Owner. Google's agency rules tell agencies to do exactly this, and it means you can remove us at any time.
Timeline
Fixing categories and services can change what you rank for within weeks. A new review flow shows up in a month or two. The profile alone will not put you first for every search in town. Distance counts, and a business whose profile is closer to the searcher has an edge nothing else can fully offset. We tell you where you realistically stand.
What it costs
Profile setup and a first cleanup come with the free launch site on every monthly plan. The Foundation plan (see the plans) includes Google Business Profile posts twice a week, written by us from the photos and news you send. Deeper local SEO and AI search work is on the Scale plan. A one-time cleanup without a monthly plan is covered by the profile setup package in the Pricing section of this page, confirmed in a statement of work (SOW) after the free review.
Where we work
KORB is in Logan and works across Cache Valley and northern Utah. Profile work is fully remote, so we can run a profile for a business anywhere in the country.
Our own profile is the example. As of October 2026 it appears in the map results for web design searches in Logan, and we keep it current the same way we would keep yours.
Start with a free review
Send us your profile link or your business name. We will look at your categories, services, photos, hours and reviews next to the three businesses ahead of you, and send you a short list of what to fix first. No contract.

Questions people ask
Correct categories, a full services list with descriptions, accurate hours and contact details, a clear description, real photos, regular posts, review requests and replies, and a monthly report on calls and direction requests. If you have no profile yet, we create and verify it first.
It keeps your profile looking alive to the customers who open it, and real photos of your work build trust faster than anything you write. We do not claim posts move your map ranking. Independent tests have not found that, and Google does not say they do. The photos and the review flow are where the profile does its work.
No. Google requires service-area businesses that do not serve customers at their address to hide it. Hiding it can cost some reach on the map, and faking a storefront risks a suspension, so we keep the profile honest and make up for it with reviews and strong service pages.
Yes. You stay the owner and we are added as a manager. If we ever part ways, we remove ourselves and nothing about your listing changes.
You can. Google's help pages are good and none of this is secret. What you pay for is that it gets done every week, in the right order, with one change at a time so the profile does not get flagged.
Google retired customer Q&A on profiles. We put those answers where they still count: your services list, your description and the FAQ on your website.
Category and services fixes can move you within weeks. Reviews and photos build over months. We report calls and direction requests every month so you can see it.
