Analytics and SEO Reporting for Small Businesses

Most small business websites cannot answer a basic question: which pages bring in work? The owner sees the phone ring and the inbox fill, and has no idea whether the website, the Google profile, a referral or a flyer caused it. Without that, every decision about marketing is a guess.

KORB Digital is a full digital services studio based in Logan, Utah, working with businesses across Utah and beyond. We set up tracking, check that it works and send a short report each month that starts with calls and leads. We work with small businesses across Utah and nationwide.

What this service is

Analytics and reporting is two jobs that depend on each other.

Setting up measurement. Making sure the website and Google profile record the actions that matter: phone taps, form sends, text messages, email clicks, direction requests and bookings.

Reporting. Turning those numbers and your Search Console data into a monthly summary you can read in five minutes, with a plain explanation of what changed and what we will do about it.

Analytics & Reporting in about a minute

Who it is for

  • Owners who pay for SEO or ads and cannot see what they get.
  • Businesses with Google Analytics installed years ago that nobody checks.
  • Sites with a contact form that may not even be working.
  • Companies moving from a site builder to a new site that need tracking rebuilt.
  • Anyone comparing agencies who wants a clear measure of success.

We find that almost no small site tracks calls or form submissions when we first look. Only a few of the sites we audited had any event set up, and the rest could not show which pages brought work. That is cheap to fix and changes how every later decision gets made.

What is included

1. A tracking plan

We write down the actions that matter for your business: a call, a quote request, a booking, an online order, a text. For each we decide how it is recorded, and what counts as a key event in Google Analytics 4. A tree service wants calls and photo texts. A consulting firm wants form sends. A store wants orders.

2. Google Analytics 4 setup

We install GA4 properly, mark the right key events and test them. For most local sites that means:

  • click to call, for every phone link;
  • click to text, for text links;
  • email clicks;
  • form submissions, recorded when the form is accepted, not just when the page loads;
  • direction or map clicks;
  • booking confirmations, when a booking system is in use.

We then check that the events fire on a phone and a computer, and that they do not fire twice.

3. Search Console, set up as a domain property

We verify your site as a domain property, submit the sitemap, link it to Analytics and set up access for you and for us. Search Console is the only source of Google's own data on what searches show your pages and how often people click, so it carries most of our monthly SEO reading. We add notes for site updates and for Google's own update dates, so a change in traffic can be explained.

4. Google Business Profile numbers

We record the profile's calls, direction requests, website clicks and search terms every month. Google only keeps about six months of the performance report, so we export it each month and keep the history. We put a tagged link on your profile's website button so profile visits show up in Analytics as their own source.

5. Call tracking, when you want it

Google's profile dashboard undercounted calls in practitioner tests, and a phone number written on a website as plain text cannot be counted at all. If you need accurate call counts, we set up a tracking number. It can be the profile's primary number with your real line listed as an additional one, so the number customers see across the web stays consistent. We explain this before we do it, because changing a phone number on a profile is a step to take carefully.

6. Form and lead testing

A form that does not reach you is the most common hidden failure. Each month we send a test form and place a test call to confirm they reach your inbox and phone. If your response speed is slow, we flag it too. Research on web leads found that firms replying within an hour were far more likely to qualify the lead than those that waited.

7. A monthly report that opens with leads

Your report has five parts, in this order:

  1. Leads: calls, forms, texts and bookings, by source, compared with last month and the same month last year.
  2. Google Business Profile: calls, direction requests, new reviews this month and your average rating.
  3. Search: Search Console clicks, impressions and average position for your key pages and searches.
  4. AI visibility: how often you were named in our monthly check of the main AI tools, when this is part of your plan. It gets one line.
  5. What we did and what is next: the work completed, the items waiting on you and the plan for next month.

Rankings from Ahrefs appear as supporting detail only. A rank is a trend indicator from one location and device, not a measurement of what every customer sees.

8. A conversation, when you want one

Small clients usually read the top of a report. If you want more, we set up a short call each quarter to go over trends and decide what to change.

What we do not do

  • We do not report vanity numbers such as impressions alone, or a ranking without the leads behind it.
  • We do not promise the numbers will match across tools. GA4 and Search Console count different things, and we explain the gap.
  • We do not collect data you do not need. We prefer analytics that avoid cookies where they meet your goals, and we write your privacy page to match what the site really does.
  • We do not guess. If a source cannot be measured, the report says so.

How we work

We start with a look at what is installed, including whether the contact form works. Then we agree on the tracking plan, set up and test it, and wait a few weeks to collect data. The first report arrives after the first full month. If you already have analytics, we audit it and keep what works. You own every account: Analytics, Search Console, call tracking and the report files.

Timeline and what to expect

Setup takes days, and data begins at once. A fair read takes about two to three months, since a single month is small for a local business and swings with seasons. Do not expect tracking to raise traffic. It tells you where leads come from, so you can put effort where it pays and stop where it does not.

What it costs

Tracking setup and a monthly review of site health, analytics and keywords come with the Foundation plan (see the plans). The monthly lead report is part of our Scale plan, along with local SEO and AI search visibility. A one-time tracking setup for a site you manage yourself is a standard package, priced in the Pricing section of this page.

Questions people ask

Calls, form submissions, text messages, email clicks, direction requests and online bookings, by the page and the source that produced them. Those are the numbers that tell you whether the website pays for itself.

They count different things. Search Console counts clicks from Google Search only. GA4 counts sessions from all search engines and loses visitors who decline cookies or block scripts. Google says the two will not match, so we use each for what it does best.

Only if you want call counts that are more reliable. Google's profile dashboard undercounted calls in practitioner tests. A tracking number can be the profile's primary number with your real line listed as the additional one. We explain the tradeoffs before changing anything.

It depends on the tools. We prefer cookieless analytics where it meets your needs, and our own site uses Ahrefs Web Analytics, which does not use cookies. Google Analytics 4 may need disclosure in your privacy policy, and we write that for you.

Monthly. It starts with the results that matter, takes about five minutes to read and ends with what we did and what we plan next.

Yes. We need read access to Search Console and your analytics, and we may ask your site person to add tracking to the site.

Yes, as supporting detail. A number one ranking under a map pack and an AI answer brings few clicks, so we lead with leads and use rankings to explain them.
